Are you an Application Support Engineer looking to be a Technical Architect?

Our client is currently offering this role it’s a great first step into a career in IT Architecture. You will be joining IT Services to work on strategic programmes that underpin critical systems and processes. You will need to be able to get up to speed quickly and have excellent relationship building skills.

As part of the clients Architecture team you will play a key role in supporting programme and project delivery. The current portfolio of IT delivery work spans our Web, ERP, MI, Student and Research information systems. We also have significant programmes of investment across the IT enablers including our Data Centres, Networks, Storage and Computer infrastructure. Alongside this we will be changing the way we support Identity and Cyber Security management.

As a Technical Architect you will help realise the benefits of these investments by supporting project delivery, understanding business needs and in the development of appropriate business and IT architectures.

You will work collaboratively with our clients Architecture team, project managers, business representatives, end-users and technical teams within IT to deliver systems that support effective and efficient business processes and align with the clients strategy.

Experience

• Experience of supporting the creation of architecture assessment and definition for business applications and infrastructure design and migration in complex environments;
• Awareness of architectural principles across business applications, infrastructure and cloud technologies, including assurance of regulatory, legislative and industry practices;
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate changes to stakeholders with differing levels of technical knowledge and the ability to influence the outputs of others you are not directly responsible for;
• Enthusiasm for the professional discipline of architecture and the ability to champion the benefits of good architecture.
