IT Support Technician

IT Support Technician – Leigh – up to £23k

Hours are 8-4.30/8.30-5.00/9-5.30 rotating

I’m looking to recruit a 1st / 2nd Line IT Support Technician working for a nationwide IT systems & support company based in Leigh. You will need previous Helpdesk experience as you will be providing 1st and 2nd line support for all customers via phone, email or remote access.

Nationwide IT systems and support company, based in Leigh, who look after clients across the country acting as an outsourced IT Department.


To suit an enthusiastic, IT Support Technician, who is happy to get involved in all aspects of the job.

Provide 1st and 2nd line support for all customers via phone, email or remote access.


Log all incidents and requests within the managed service system.

Manage, prioritise and plan own work queue and deal with calls within SLAs.

Liaise with 3rd Party Suppliers to resolve issues for our customers.

Monitor and manage the protection of supported systems, including but not limited to antivirus and backup
Perform maintenance and upgrades of software and hardware in response to RMM alerts, support tickets and customer needs.

Proactively drive your own workload, have the ability work under own initiative identify and drive through opportunities for improvement/change.

To create and maintain knowledge base articles to enable consistency.

Update and acquire information from clients.

This role may on rare occasion require some travel to customer locations countrywide but is primarily office based.


Excellent communication and customer service skills with a positive attitude essential.

Good problem-solving skills and ability to deliver consistently to tight timescales and changing priorities.

Strong working knowledge of Windows 7 & 10, Windows Server 2012 & 2016, RDP, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, Office 365, MSP Tools, Terminal services, IPSEC VPN, printing technologies.

Ability to learn new technologies and terminology quickly.

You will have previous experience in a IT Helpdesk role
