Senior Software Engineer

Hybrid – 2 days per week in Stockport office

Our client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their fast-growing eCommerce team.

You will be working on the maintenance and optimisation of the existing Magento 1 platform, the development of new functionality and the long-term preparation for migration to Magento 2. Prior Magento 1 experience is preferred, but training is available for senior candidates already skilled with similar platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and enhance our e-commerce platform based on Magento 2.
• Design and implement new features and functionality for our platform, as well as maintaining and improving existing features.
• Optimize the performance of the platform to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Work closely with other members of the development team to ensure that all code is consistent, efficient and maintainable.
• Write clean and well-documented code that is easily scalable.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues that arise on the platform, working closely with other members of the team to ensure timely resolution.

Requirements:   

• At least 5 years of experience in full-stack web development.
• Proven experience as a Magento 2 Developer, with a strong portfolio of successful e-commerce projects.
• In-depth knowledge of Magento 2 architecture, best practices, and coding standards.
• Proficient in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Magento 2 front-end development, including the use of XML, SASS, RequireJS, and Knockout.js.
